ShowSense

Privacy Policy

Last updated 16 September 2026

ShowSense is operated by Dead Air Sports LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the ShowSense application collects, why, and what we do with it. It covers the application only.

Information we collect

Google account information

When you sign in with Google we receive your email address, name, profile picture and Google account identifier. We use these to identify your account and nothing else.

YouTube channel and video data

If you connect a YouTube channel, we access through the YouTube Data API v3:

YouTube performance data

If you authorise analytics access, we register reporting jobs on your channel and download the reports they generate through the YouTube Reporting API. These contain, per video per day: thumbnail impressions, impression click-through rate, views, watch time, average view duration and percentage, likes, comments, shares, and subscribers gained and lost.

We request the scopes youtube.readonly and yt-analytics.readonly. Both are read-only. ShowSense cannot upload, edit, delete or publish anything on your channel, and never requests permission to do so.

Content you provide

Your show profile, episode transcripts you paste in, thumbnail images you submit for grading, production packages you generate and commit, and any YouTube Studio export files you upload.

How we use it

We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with other ShowSense customers. Your analytics are visible only to people you have given a seat on your channel.

Google user data and Limited Use

ShowSense's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically: we do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as required to provide or improve the features you use, or as required by law; we do not use it for advertising; we do not allow humans to read it except with your explicit consent, for security purposes, to comply with applicable law, or where the data has been aggregated and anonymised; and we do not use it to develop, improve or train generalised machine learning or artificial intelligence models.

Service providers

We use a small number of providers to run the service:

These providers process data on our instructions in order to deliver the service. We do not share your data with anyone else.

Storage and retention

Data is stored in a Postgres database hosted by Railway in the United States.

YouTube data is refreshed, not archived. Video metadata and performance statistics are re-fetched from the YouTube API daily, so what we hold is a current copy rather than an accumulating store of old API responses. This satisfies the YouTube API Services Terms, which require stored API data to be refreshed or deleted at least every thirty days.

What persists is the analysis we derive from it — click-through baselines for your channel, how your own title words have performed, thumbnail assessments, and the production packages and reports you generate. That material is produced by ShowSense from your data and is not itself YouTube API data. It is what makes the product more useful the longer you use it.

Thumbnail images submitted for grading are not stored — only the resulting assessment. All of it is deleted when you delete your account.

Your choices

Security

Access tokens are stored server-side and are never exposed through our API or to your browser. All traffic is encrypted in transit. Access to a channel's data requires an active seat on that channel, checked on every request.

Children

ShowSense is a professional tool and is not directed at anyone under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy materially we will update the date above and notify account holders by email.
